Just an idea but a Thicker joiner post combo could be nice for linking and stability. Also, I forgot to share a picture!

I did not yet print this, but it seems very handy. This is not only handy as a shoe shelf but also as a shelf in general. I am thinking to use it in the kitchen to store coffee mug under and above the shelf. For that purpose, would it be possible to make the middle pole optional? Or is the shelf that lightweight that it requires a supporting pole in the middle?
