Description

I have been experimenting with a breakaway wingtip to improve on the silhouette of my design to match the real F14 better, while still being print-in-place and articulated. The wingtip breaks of with a satisfying snap and leaves a nice clean edge. I have also adjusted the wing shape and the angle of the tail fins. I have also included a version with a brim

The print model is fantastic overall, with impressive design and mechanical structure. However, I suggest printing near an 8mm cylinder for optimal finishing of the plane's tip. It's crucial to handle the wings with care during printing and when removing the object from the print bed to prevent breakage. Overall, with attention to detail during printing and handling, the final result will be impeccable.

printed perfect but I was heavy handed removing the brim and broke a wing tip off I also round off the nose a bit since I gave it too my kid to play with and it was really pointy.

As far as I understand it the tips are supposed to be broken off at the line! So your "broken" wing is actually the correct one :)

printed with EPA. fast PLA Black, had some minor stringing on the default Generic Fast PLA profile but other than that it printed perfectly! was a little stiff after printing but after a few cycles of the wings they move great!
