Description

Say hello to the Desktop Defender, the newest must-have in office artillery!

Whether you're aiming at the recycling bin for a quick eco-challenge or engaging in friendly cubicle combat, the Desktop Defender is your trusty ally. Its user-friendly design allows for easy setup and operation: just clamp it onto your desk edge, load up a harmless paper projectile, and let it fly

This design is heavily inspired by one of ForgeCore's awesome designs.

just 57g of Filament

easy 2:15h Print time

No Suppports

No extra Hardware - everything is printed!

Clamps onto objects 0-50mm thick

Assembly

I wanted to leave enough clearance for every printer. If the sling sitzs too loose, just add a drop of super glue.

Don't forget to capture the fun! Snap a photo of your Desktop Defender in action and share it with the MakerWorld community.

Good first step to blame the print profile of my model.

Glad your kids liked it. What type of PLA did you use? I tried once a matte PLA and it wasn't strong enough. Normal PLA should work, but I plan to make a new version of it to minimize stress on the individual edges.

The teacher didnt like it as much as the kids 😅. I used normal pla. It broke 2 times after some minutes of usage in the curvy part that is stressed when bending back. Maybe using tpu wpuld work better.

you mean putting on the sling unit backward? edges wouldn’t line up perfectly, but yea, should work.

Lots of fun to use, wife has headshotted 2 co-workers at this point! Had two failures, but they were adhesion issues on my end, so no fault of the file. Can't give it 5 stars though, bottom joint seems to fail pretty quickly, still usable, just cracking.
