Description

I was looking for a storage solution for many small parts, screws, springs, o-rings, connectors etc.
I also needed a solution with a lid that latches and also shows me the contents just by looking.

So I came up with a lid with a piece of packaging plastic, cut out to size with plain scissors and the cutting template that's also included.

The bins are size 1x1, but vary in height from 3U to 6U in half steps.

There are colored versions with color markings, as well as single-color versions, see the added print profiles.

Assembly is very easy, just cut out the (PET) sheet shape according to the template and slide it into the lid.
Fix it in place with the locking ring.
Finally slot the lid into place in the bin.

See the enclosed drawings, image and PDF, for more info.

As usual any stereo images are of the cross-eyed type.

Edit 07-05-2025:
I've included a print profile with the cutting templates.

I've also been looking for better ways to hold on to the PET-foil and cutting template and I came across a very pragmatic clamp, the Handi-Clamp by LoboCNC:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/95058-handi-clamp?from=search#profileId-107325

So I also added some alternative pads that allow you to use the clamp to firmly hold a piece of PET-foil to precisely cut it to shape.
The clamps are wide enough to fit a pair of scissors in between, so the foil can be cut on all four sides.

For extra grip you could add some small pieces of rubber/felt to the corners of the (smaller) pad, see images.

Edit 14-05-2026:

I've finally found time to add the much requested ‘text-free’ versions of all the bins.
That means all the bins in that Print Profile have straight sides.

It's in the list of all the different Print Profiles right at the bottom.
It's named ‘TextFree - Full Set Gridfinity Bins with Lid 1x1, 3U - 6U’.

Hope this helps.
