Description

GripCap

Problems opening screw caps on bottles? - No problem with GripCap!

Open the bottle once with an opener and replace the cap with a GripCap to get a larger cap diameter and more grip.

GripCap comes in two versions.

One-Part and Two-Part

One Part
This version has an integrated thread and can be used directly after printing.

The disadvantage of this version is that there is no seal in the lid. If the One-Part GripCap is used on bottles with carbon dioxide, it is possible that this will escape over time.

Two-Part

The Two-Part GripCap was designed to adress this issue and seal the bottles gas-tight.
For this, the standard cap of a PET bottle (e.g. water, Coca-Cola, Fanta etc.) is required.
(PCO 1881 28mm, bottle thread)

Assembly:

  1. remove the remains of the “retaining ring” from the PET lid
  2. press the lid into the printed model
    1. Glue the lid in place with hot glue or superglue for a better hold.

Note:
I designed and printed this model because my girlfriend's grandparents have problems opening standard bottles with “MCA 28” lids. The lids are too small in diameter.
Feel free to suggest any optimization.
