Description

In the paper Acoustic metasurface-based perfect absorber with deep subwavelength thickness by Yong Li and Badreddine M. Assouar, is presented a “a metasurface-based perfect absorber capable of achieving the total absorption of acoustic wave in an extremely low frequency region” [cit.]

I designed and 3D printed the stl file of the model present in the study, out of curiosity.

My model has a slit where a holed sheet of plastic can be inserted to complete the acoustic absorber.

UPDATE Jan 15 2024:

Added printable holed lid.

Hi, did you test the acoustic performance? Also, what material is best?

Honestly, I haven't tested it properly yet. I guess I should print a minimum number and take measurements, but I have so many projects to do... Maybe the shape is more important than the material, but I am just a curious person and not an expert at all. If you make some tests in the meantime, please let me know :)

No more
