Seed box

This is a simple box for seed packets. It has a tight-fitting lid, making it almost airtight.

There are 3 chambers to separate seeds. The sides are angled and the front is low to allow you to read the labels. The lid has a matching angle, making the top straight.

Though this is a simple print, having no curves and requiring no supports, it will take a lot of filament to print since it's quite large. My initial design was twice as wide, having 2 rows of 3 chambers side by side, but that would have taken up over 350g of filament just to print the base. As it is, it's about the longest part I have ever printed and it will store plenty of seed packets.

The walls and floor are 3mm thick. Perhaps they could be thinner, but not that much thinner or strength would be compromised.

2 walls and 20% infill makes this very strong. 3 walls and 10% (or even 5%?) infill might be just as strong but may increase print time.

I printed this in CC3D PLA MAX Grass Green. PETG would be better because this will sit in a shed with high temperatures and high humidity, but it's survived well so far.

This was printed on my old (now retired) Creality Ender 3 V2 Neo. It won't fit an A1 mini because it's 180mm long, but it'll fit any other printer.

Print settings:

• 0.20mm layer height (you could also use 0.28mm)
• 10-20% infill
• No supports
• No brim
• No raft
