This is a minimalist stand for the Star Trek original series flip-up communicator. I designed this for someone else and am not sure what type of communicator it fits but I know he chooses as authentic as possible. I'm informed this does not fit the Playmates version.

It holds up the communicator at a 45 degree angle for display and the holders stay out of the way as much as possible. It allows the communicator to stay in place with the cover flipped up. It holds the communicator quite securely on the bottom yet the bottom support stays out of sight. It's tight enough on the sides so that there's minimal play yet the communicator isn't wedged in. As many edges as possible are filleted to give a more finished appearance. The TOS logo is on each side, 1mm thick.

I printed this in Stronghero3D Galaxy Silver PLA, a translucent grey with glitter. This is very nice filament, it always prints well and it really shines in the light. It gives it that 60s-prop look. This was printed on my old (now retired) Creality Ender 3 V2 Neo.

Print this on its back so that the bottom tab won't require supports. You will need minimal supports for the logo, use normal (not tree) supports. They break off easily and require no clean up. With this filament, my first attempts really showed the infill through the sides. To minimize this, use 3 walls/perimeters and set “infill/wall overlap percentage” to at least 10% (both Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer have this at 15% by default, so it should be fine).
