Description

This is only two of the parts for the painting handle. Follow the link to the origin model to get the rest of the parts.

I redesigned to adapter top and figure base for the Ratcheting miniatures painting handle.

I wanted the adapter and figure bases to use smaller magnets, since 10mm magnets are too strong and more expensive.

I also wanted one magnet size, dont know why the original uses 4 and 5mm tick magnets.

I changed the cross slot to a bevelled star pattern to make it easier to slot in and moved the magnet to the bottom of the figure base, to enable attaching the magnet on a metal plate when the figure base is not on the painting handle.

You can modify the models on OnShape by changing the variables if you want to change the magnet size:

Nice enhancement ;) btw. original uses 2 different magnets, because i have lot of them... no, because i found when magnets touch each other, then is imposible to split them without brute force, i just put one thinner. So your solution is much better, because I was so lazy redesign it with smaller, same size, magnets. Instead i put all my effort to working on special adapter based on "universal lathe chuck". But it partialy fails (problem to create goos "spiral") and then i loose my focus... maybe later i'll publish my current state, 85% working adapter, but for now is in the shelf :P

Thanks :) Finishing bigger projects is always hard, especially the last mile. If you are 85%, you should definetely try to get last stuff done. Maybe with a simpler first version if what you are trying is too tricky to get right. I will probably be making an adapter for larger figures, a friend from work says they dont fit most handles.
