My new model of the utility case.

 

Simple print without support

All parts are completely printed with PLA, only the gasket needs to be printed with TPU in order to close smooth and seal nicely.

 

To assemble it, you need:

6pcs M3 nuts

2 pcs of screws M3x30

3pcs of screws M3x18

 

Dimensions are in mm:

 

NEW:

 

Now we made V2 model that has thicker hinges on each side by 1mm behind, and wall loops with 3pcs.
For this model, instead of 3pcs M3x18mm screws, you now need 3pcs M3x20mm.

Nice, didnt know that... I recommend a print tpu seal to close smoothly, but if it works that way then great :D

Great model, just the right size for what I needed. I added the lettering to the top, and it printed fantastic. I'm only knocking it because one of the hinges on the lower box broke when I was assembling it. It broke on a layer line, so I think it could be redesigned to be a little stronger by making it a little beefier. I am going to reprint that piece with 3 or 4 perimeters instead of 2 and see if it is stronger.

Thank you for your honest review. It's a bit strange to me, because this is the v3 model that I made with stronger hinges and it works perfectly for me, with a lot of use. Anyway, I made a new model and published a separate profile with 1mm thicker hinges on each side, and I hope this one will suit you better. Consider that you now need M3x20mm screws for that model instead of the previous 18mm. In the picture you can see the parts marked in red, they are made thicker. Best regards

That's fantastic, thanks! I will go ahead and print the new one tonight. I sliced off the top corner of the model so I could do several faster test prints with different settings. Between upping the wall loops to 3, and upping the temp to 240, it was significantly stronger. I estimate that it was 2-3x as hard for me to break the hinge section off with these settings. Usually the default settings for the X1C are good enough for my prints, but in this case I needed to tweak for more strength.

how do you made those letters? :0 I have an AMS but I never achieaved that kind of multicolor in a single layer

Could you make a case with these dimensions? They are listed in the photo. Those would need to be internal dimensions.

Thank you for the suggestion. This was the first one we made and published, after this we made and published a smaller model that you can find in my profile. We are already working on a larger model, which should be twice as big as the first version, but the inner boxes should be modular and correspond to the old model.

That will be the dimensions for the new one. 194x188x64mm 64mm will be the hight. The reason for such dimensions is that all the boxes are modular, and that the inner boxes from, for example, smaller ones fit into the largest box.

I'm looking to only print the case with nothing on the inside. I would like to print it in ASA to be used in a marine application. I do not need any inserts.
