This decorative replacement offers an aesthetic upgrade to the standard AMS handle. To install, simply use a 1.5mm Allen key to remove the two screws securing the original handle.
While Silk-PLA may seem like an attractive choice for its aesthetic appeal, its weaker layer adhesion can become problematic due to the repetitive pulling action on this part. Therefore, it is advisable to opt for more durable materials such as PLA, PETG, or ASA. I have obtained excellent results with Sunlu PLA Meta black, which boasts a glossy, silk-like finish.
For optimal print quality, I recommend using a layer height of 0.12mm or smaller, along with 2-3 perimeters.
Supports are necessary for the handle but can be removed with relative ease, except around the top teeth where extra caution is advised and you still might lose some teeth.
If removing supports results in white marks, a quick fix involves lightly touching the affected area with a jet flame lighter. This method effectively blends in most imperfections.
The screw holes require careful post-processing, as this area of the model is too intricate for supports. To facilitate smoother installation, I suggest pre-threading the holes by inserting the screws once before attaching the handle. This pre-threading ensures a more effortless final assembly.
