Basic information

The model is divided into 7 movable articulated segments, which grant the model with lifelike movement, and a high range of flexibility. It prints in place, no assembly is required.

None. The model was designed not to require any support material.

Scaling

Possible, however, If your machine isn't calibrated properly, has accuracy problems, or if you're dealing with filament issues, downscaling isn't recommended. When downscaling, proceed cautiously, and don't go too small, unless you want to risk mobility related issues. When printing a downscaled version, adjust layer height in proportion to the scale.

But be careful, if you're printing a downscaled version, the tail fin is fairly narrow, and it's sticking out quite a lot, so it might not have enough time to cool down while printing. To eliminate this issue, print at least two instances of the model, or add a simple tower with the same height as the model. This will force the nozzle to move away from the fin, and allow it to cool down properly.

Adhesion aid

Not necessary, contact area with the buildplate should be sufficient. If your print surface suffers from poor adhesion, consider using some adhesive spray, or other kind of adhesion booster. Using brim is possible, but not recommended, as it would be difficult, and inconvenient to remove afterwards.

Other settings/ideas

To make the model look even cooler, add a filament change into your gcode, and print the belly in a different color.

maybe things got a little out of control. the print works in all scales. smallest 5,7cm/ largest almost 60 cm glued together in 2 parts

unfortunately i haven´t saved the print profile. But the steps are very easy to recreate. Open the standart print profile for this model. leave all settings as they are. just adjust the size of the model to 60 cm or the size you prefer. If it´s to big for your plate jst use the "cut" option (shortcut "C") and split it in half. I splitted my model at the middle of one segment and glued it together. put both halfes on a printplate and print it in two sessions. I used normal model building glue.

Me gusto mucho este modelo, apenas estoy comenzando con la impresión 3D, y me di cuenta que para que la figura no se empezará a despegar de la cama le puse la temperatura a 50. En otra ocasión intenté poner 2 al mismo tiempo y sucedía que la boquilla arrastraba la impresión (no se por que disculpen la ignorancia) así que solo intenté con una y ese fue el resultadocon todo y pintura.🐧

I printed this using Smoky Gray DURAMIC 3D PLA and Sapphire Blue CC3D Silk PLA, on a Bambu Labs P1S (with AMS). It printed pretty good. Some of the layers werent the best, and i see that in other people's prints as well, but it works well enough - still beautiful! I made 2 at 60% size and one miniature.

what printing speed did you print at? i did 100% and i got a big glooby mess near the head on my p1s
