Description

----2025.5.5 Wall Mount of Shalamayne released.

----2025.4.19 Magnet related instructions have been added to step 5 & 6 of the assembly guide. I recommend to use CA012 from Maker's Supply, other magnets may require glue due to different tolerances.

----2025.4.17 Added Part2_Connector_MultiColor and Part3_Handle_MultiColor profile, the handle profile only has 2 pieces for the grip.

----

The great sword of King Varian and his big boy Anduin in World of Warcraft, Shalamayne.

  • Whole new design for FDM printing blending the two looks from the BFA CG and the in game look.
  • The full length is about 110cm, compatible with A1mini.
  • The default state is a two-handed sword, Shalamayne, which with 8 magnets CA012 (20mm diameter, 3mm thickness) can be very easily split into two one-handed swords, Shallator and Ellamayne. Of course it's fine without the magnets, there are replacement connectors in the profile.
  • The orb in the center of the sword can be fitted with a KC007 kit, or it can be printed directly with other colored filaments if you don't have the kit.
  • Similar to my other large models, I have divided the model into 4 parts for future tweaking and updating, and I recommend printing them in Part1-Part4 order.

About Print Profile:

  • All pieces have passed the non-glued plate test, even glossy pei is fine.
  • All profiles are pre-supported and can be printed directly.
  • Both PLA and PETG are fine, if you are looking for better detail, it is recommended to use PLA for Part1-Part3, and use PETG for Part4  only, same as the one in the video.

About Assembly:

  • See attached assembly guide for installation sequence, no screw or glue needed.

  • For compatibility with the A1mini, there are more pieces than my previous models, and to ensure that they do not loosen after installation, the tolerances are a little smaller, especially at the connection between the handle and the blade. Some high shrinkage filaments may require some patience to slowly press the slots in. But I've tested both PLA and PETG, neither of them required any sanding, and the sword in the video was not glued, so you can swing and slash with confidence.
  • Many of the slots and tenons have small ball bumps to make it easier to adjust the tolerances of different materials. If you encounter a failure to insert because of these bumps, just cut away, usually no cut is needed, just press with a little more force.

About Color:

  • Color references are preset in all profiles.
  • Part1_blade, all silver.
  • Part2_Connectors, all dark grey, can be made up later in the surface pattern with a silver color close to the blade.
  • Part3_Handle, all champagne gold, just fill in the brown color at the hand grip.
  • Part4_ glow&gem, if fitted with lights, the orbs are transparent and the gems are transparent red.
  • The color I listed in BOM is just a reference.
