Summary

Pangolins are facing a dire crisis, teetering on the brink of extinction. Humanity is the culprit in this tragedy, with superstition and greed fueling this rampant slaughter.
Pangolins, the mammals cloaked in tough, overlapping scales, are anything but aggressive. Their scales provide natural defense against predators in the wild. However, they are sadly deemed the world's most hunted animal, as people believe their meat holds medicinal properties and their scales possess aphrodisiac qualities.
The numbers of pangolins are dwindling, and some individuals consume them solely to flaunt their extravagant wealth. This callous act pushes these helpless creatures ever closer to the precipice of endangerment. While international trade in pangolins has been prohibited by CITES since 2000, and they are classified as 'protected species' in most of their Asian home states, these scaly anteaters remain vulnerable to smuggling and poaching. The disappearance of pangolins is not a scenario we desire to witness; only the stringent implementation of law enforcement, punishing poachers and consumers, can effectively mitigate this extinction crisis. This is our last chance to save pangolins. Let us not allow scientific predictions to come true.

Creating this pangolin was a challenging and time-consuming endeavor. I went through at least six revisions before finally presenting it to you. My goal was to craft a piece that would be both visually appealing and functional. Initially, I hesitated to share this creation because I had fallen deeply in love with it since its inception, standing there before me. Now, my greatest desire is for you to experience it firsthand, to hold it in your hands, feel its texture, listen to its sounds, and witness its dynamic transformations. Enjoy it, and I believe you'll cherish it too.

The same file will be uploaded to http://fastlab.tw/, (Institute for Information Industry, III), a 3D works sharing website. All 3D enthusiasts are welcome to upload their creations and have a blast here!

My deepest gratitude goes to Shinkong Synthetic Fibers Corp. for providing the dedicated color materials (ABS) and supporting this creation.

Came out great! However, legs connections to the body are loose. Any recommendations?

If you printed with PLA: Dip leg joint in boiling water to soften, then squeeze the joint a bit to make it smaller.

My son absolutely loves this print. Originally he saw it and tried to design his own in TinkerCad! Turns out its pretty hard to make a Pangolin stay together! We had a few user error problems getting it to print, but all totally my fault. We printed it in gold PLA and it looks amazing.

A co-worker asked me to print this in wood filament. So I used AMOLEN walnut filament with a .6 nozzle and .24 layer height and I think it came out pretty well. Thanks for sharing
