This is an African elephant with 22 movable joints.
The joint design of this elephant is different from the common chain-like design. These joints can be adjusted and fixed at different angles, allowing the elephant's trunk to be lifted and posed in various preferred positions. The tightness of the joints depends on the hardness of the materials used for printing. Using harder materials will result in tighter joints.

The reason it is named "Blank" is to encourage the printer to add color to the elephant's body. For those with multi-color 3D printers, they can try printing each segment in different colors.

When printing, please start by printing the tail. If the tail can rotate properly, then use the same printing settings to print the other parts. If the tail gets stuck and cannot rotate, please reduce the material flow to continue printing.

The design of the joints on this African elephant is different from the common chain-like design. These joints can be adjusted and fixed at different angles, so the elephant's trunk can be lifted and posed in any way you like. The tightness of the joints depends on the hardness of the material used for printing. The harder the material, the tighter the joints.

The reason it is named "Blank" is to encourage the printer to add color to the elephant's body. Those who have multi-color 3D printers can try printing each segment in different colors.

Hi LabRatt, how'd you go? Did you ever end up trying it out again?

Never tried it again, I kinda forgot about it, thanks for reminding me I'm going to do it tomorrow.

it looks like you are using PETG, try with regular non-translucent PLA

Printed nicely in marble PLA. Articulation is really well done, it allows to lock in certain orientations for poses. I don't know if it's part of the model or slicing but I really like that only the small touch points has brims. Easy clean-up.

It's part of the model... the settings are set to No Brim, so they're only on the places where the designer put them in.

Did you use the designers settings or did you modify for the marble PLA?

50%, fun print under 2 hours
Not bad at 50% printed fine on the x1c the small articulations are a bit stiff and the geometry is a bit blocky so I don't think its gonna get a million makes!

at my print the trunk was a bit blocky first, but became loose, when i move it two or three times.

Great print! Even my husband (who would rather I print “useful things” like shelves and shadow boxes) thinks this elephant is wonderful!

I love the look and the way you can articulate the limbs and truck. The one issue is keeping the legs attached to the main body of the elephant. I am not sure if the joint did not print right or I did not lock it in right. It is a beautiful looking print. I have it on display in my dining room.

Printed the 50% scale one and it came out great. It was a little tough to get some of the smaller parts moving, but once you get it moving, everything moves well and holds it's position nicely.
