Description
This Ikea Skadis panel mount supports a generic air quality detector available on Aliexpress. This detector comes in several configurations: 5-in-1, 6-in-1, 10-in-1, and 15-in-1. These versions share identical dimensions. The model shown in the images is the 15-in-1 (ZN-MT29). The mount facilitates swift installation and easy mobility via magnets.
This mount comprises two magnetized, detachable parts:
- A section that directly attaches to the detector's rear, also serving as a stable base for countertop placement
- A section that attaches to the Skadis panel (first attach the lower mount, then the two upper mounts)
Assembly requires eight 5 x 3 mm magnets, inserted firmly (needle-nose pliers recommended). No adhesive is needed. A small 3D-printed element is inserted and glued to the back of the detector-mounting section, preventing the detector from falling when the Skadis section is attached (simple and effective vertical and horizontal locking).
Version 2 in progress:
- Enlarged magnet holes (5x3mm) for easier insertion
- Reduced depth of through-holes for closer proximity to the Skadis panel
