Description

I know filament samples have been done a lot but hear me out, I have tried many different filament samples over time and most of them had features that I didn't need because the calibration on these Bambu printers works so well and so these features were just wasted time since they made the print take longer.

I made this sample to be easy to store, hold a large printed label, illustrate the transparency of the filament (which seemed to be the one thing I still wanted) and illustrate the color of the printed filament since that can be slightly different. This sample also only uses about 5g of plastic which I also wanted to minimize. This sample is thinner than many as well and intentionally not rigid to have a demonstration of the flexibility of various materials after they are printed, this is also the reason these samples are larger than many. This sample also includes both sharp 90 degree corners and a curve as I know the Bambu printers can print these features so I wanted to be able to see how different filaments worked.

The design was inspired by other color sample books that can be purchased for paint and other mediums and is designed to be stored on a binder ring like this one but really any ring or wire/rope would work great, I wanted it to be flexible and let me hang them as in the photos. The label area is designed for 24mm labels like these and is designed to give a 75mm long a little bit of wiggle room, I couldn't include the label template that I use for Brother P-Touch software on Makerworld as they don't allow the file format but if that changes I will add it. The layout file includes a bunch of covers that I needed, the text can be modified in the slicer or post a comment and I can add more!

I hope someone else finds this useful!

NOTE: The cover plates have a bunch of options on them, in the Bambu Handy mobile app you can select which models to print from a plate (like a reverse of the skip interface) from Makerworld designs so that is how I use it, I can also upload a version with each cover on an individual plate if anyone wants it.
