Description

No Chinese New Year is complete without the red envelopes.

Depending on where you're from, it's customary to hand out red envelopes with money inside to kids within your extended family, ranging from a couple bucks to thousands of dollars, as part of the New Year blessings. I was not lucky enough to fall into the later category when growing up as a kid, sad face…

simply print this flat as the profile is laid out, and fold the envelope. some CA glue is required for the assembly. I have uploaded a second version with a Chinese coin symbol on the back of the envelope as an accent, which turned out pretty nicely. see second picture for the back comparison.

Note this model is designed for the 0.16mm print profile, so you get two layers of print where you need to fold, and the Bambu PLA Matte worked out great for the folding. Strong enough to withstand multiple folding, but easy enough to fold with bare hands. The X'mas pack turned out awesome with the sparkle gold, I would love to see that as a regular offering from the Bambu store, please!

Disclaimer: I did not come up with the 2D art design myself. I saw it from one of the AliExpress listing for Chinese New Year hoodies as I was shopping for my son, and basically took the screen grab, and traced the art work into this model. Since it's not another 3d model design, and there're literally dozens of sellers selling various items with the same art work, I don't think it would be appropriate for me to post the hoodie's shopping listing here.
