Description

Just in time for President's Day! This is a fun little print to send to school with your little ones. When mounted on top of a pencil or similarly sized object, as you twist it, the image changes from George Washington to Abraham Lincoln and back. They'll be the envy of their whole classroom! Or you can print a bed full of them and let your little one share with the whole class. Then they'll be the hero of the whole classroom!

For you bigger kids, I have a desktop sculpture version as well. You can get it here and wow your friends and coworkers!

Print Recommendations

All of the profiles print at 0.12 layer height. The improved overhang printing at small layer heights and the overall quality benefits outweighed the small increase in printing time in my opinion. I've included several print profiles for printing multiples since this thing is just begging to be shared. Also, since this item is small, when only printing one, the print slows down to get adequate cooling, so you actually benefit from printing more than one at a time. See below for details.

  • One prints in about 26 minutes (26 minutes per item)
  • 3 prints in ~40 minutes (13:20 per item)
  • 5 prints in ~3 minutes (12:30 per item)
  • 10 prints in 120 minutes (12:00 per item)

Feedback

I'd love to hear if you end up printing some for your kids to share. I'd also love to hear if you have any other famous duos that you'd like me to try to give this same morphing treatment to. I'm having a hard time coming up with some that have distinct enough features that they would be recognizable at a glance from their side profiles.
