INTRODUCTION

The object was created to be a sponge organizer. Unlike the single egg-shaped model, this one is larger. It has four slots available to insert four different sponges. The model aims to organize your sponges (beauty blender), not designed to be carried in bags, because it is quite bulky. For the pocket-sized model, you can find the egg-shaped model on my profile.

ITEM

The dimensions of the box are:

• closed: 106mm x 116mm with a height of 75mm.
• open: 106mm x 220 mm with a height of 40mm (dimensions with raised hinge).

Furthermore, it is equipped with a 180° rotating hinge, tested for over a month and so far it has not broken. The hinge is very particular because it was designed so that the 2 lids do not need to be assembled once printing is finished. This makes it a very robust and aesthetically pleasing hinge. I recommend handling it with care after printing.

The clip is very light, its purpose is more aesthetic than functional, but it does its job, it is thin to ensure the right flexibility to allow opening.

As an aesthetic touch on the top lid, a striped heart has been created!

PRINT

The print is quite long, given the size. There are two plates in total:

• PLATE 1: the box is present which I recommend making in PETG; printing time of 3 hours and 50 minutes.
• PLATE 2: the heart-shaped clip and the decoration grid are present; printing time of 27 minutes.

The second plate was designed to allow everyone to print it in any combination they want, both in terms of material and color.

Small supports are needed on plate 1. In the profile, the critical parts where they are needed have already been highlighted, so it can be printed directly without problems. To conclude, the printing profile does not have any particular precautions; 0.2 layer, 15% grid infill, 2 walls.

For the box I recommend PETG, while for the decoration grid and the heart-clip you can opt for both PLA and PETG.

The object in the photo was made with Bambulab P1S with Bambulab PETG HF red filament for the box and Bambulab PLA matte charcoal black filament for the decoration grid and the heart-clip

POST PRODUCTION

After printing, gently force the two ends of the box to activate the hinge. Follow the assembly instructions, the tolerance was designed for the interlocking of the components, this does not mean that if it makes you feel safer you can put a drop of glue.
