Description

Introducing “Fun Wheels” Toy Cars for boys, girls and adult kids of all ages. Modeled from actual blueprints.

The Fun Wheel toy car system allows you to switch between 30mm wheels for a more realistic look or 60mm wheels wheels with interchangeable hubcaps for a more “rad” appearance. You can personalize your car with your own colors, stripe layouts, text and windows. No painting required and prints entirely without supports. This set includes a 1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z, and a 1961 Corvette as a Barbie car! I have included a profile for both cars with all the wheel, axle and hubcap sets. All the raw stl files are included in the download section if you wish to use other printers or set up the prints yourself.

2024-04-06 Update: Version 2 of the hubcaps have stronger snaps to minimize breakage.

Printing Instructions

The car body is split in half on the slicer plate with holes and dowels for easy alignment. You can easily modify the colors, stripe layouts and text to personalize your vehicle.

I printed mine in PLA with 5% infill for the car bodies. Axles and spacers should be printed at 100% infill for maximum strength or out of PLA-CF if you have it. The hubcaps snap into the 60mm wheels and can be removed by pressing the extended posts from the other side of the tire.

Hi I printed both version for my grandkids, the only issue that I have are the tab for the wheel cover that are breaking off so easily. Is it possible to add a filling between this tab to provide more strength on those part.  Thank You

Thank you for the excellent feedback. The Grandkid test lab will expose every design weakness! I've updated the hubcap profile and the raw stls with "Disc Snap V2" that has a filler between the tabs as you suggested. Please let me know if these work better.

Thank you for the quick reply. I really appreciate your effort. These models are amazing, now I am the superhero for my grandkids, and this is a priceless feeling. For the new hubcap, I printed them out this morning, and they are more resistant and seem to be ok. My little monsters tried them out, and they resisted for a long time before they were able to break it, so I reprint them at 100% infill for now it passes the resistance test. In one of your post, you mention that they will be more model coming up. Well, I have a suggestion, I am an owner of a 1973 VW dune buggy. This model is love by all children's form 4 to 70-year-olds.  I have been looking all around to find a 3d model without any luck. I am posting a few pictures of the beast, if this is something you like to do I can provide more information. Thank You

That dune buggy looks great! I'll keep my eye out for a good set of blueprints that I can use to model it.

No, I haven't made a video. My process involved a lot of trial and error, but I do plan on making more car body versions.
