Description

This model is intended to be used to test for VFA / Banding / Ringing artifacts at a specific speed or a specific direction.

You can orient it on the x or y axis, or at a specific angle for which you want to test for artifacts.

The model's height is just a little over 2 cm so it does not waste too much material.

Make sure to have appropriate layer time for cooling for each material used, but still not too long to overwrite the specific speed you want to test!

Ex. for PLA 2 s minimum layer time should be enough, but for PETG it's 3 s minimum according to my tests. To test more heat sensitive materials at high speeds, you can print multiple ones (ex. 2 at a certain distance on the build plate) to reduce the heat creep when layer time is not enough for appropriate cooling.

If you happen to find a solution to VFA, please share what you did in the Bambulab forum post dedicated to this subject with us your fellow users!

Yes unfortunately it's my case also.. I gave up thinkering adter several days (yes) of trying... Now I print in carbon fiber filaments when I want a nice finish or tight tolerances (il shows less the vibrations especially at 70 mm/s and at 45 degrees orientation).

Test is great, because I have a lot problems with the banding problem, and this test will be to send it to Bambu

Hey thanks, Yeah I got the same problem unfortunately and I still can't find a solution even after extensive research and thinkering. This test really helps to not waste a huge amount of filament on test prints, but still have a good idea if the problem is present or not for a specific speed or direction. I am happy it helped you! If by any luck you are able to reduce your VFA, please let me know !
