Description

V2 UPDATE - We've revamped the mask for this year, replacing the latches with magnets and covering the eyes with perforated panels to allow you to truly become Jack the Pumpkin King!

V2.1 UPDATE - We've added a deeper back half of the mask which gives an additional inch (25mm) of space for those with larger heads.  This is fully compatible with all V2 (magnet) versions of the mask and is a separate profile so you can print it easily if required.

Designed for 6x3mm magnets, which are available from Bambu (link below), Aliexpress https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DBCnnAt or Temu https://temu.to/k/ub8ahyn4xi9

Jack Skellington Full Head Mask

This mask has full head coverage consisting of a front and back half which uses a bit of elastic strap for the top hinge and includes connectors for up to 10 6x3mm magnets. The large eye holes are now filled with a perforated surface to allow you to see while concealing your face.

Supports are included, as well as adaptive layers and concentric top surface for optimal print quality.

There are three versions available - an AMS version with integrated eye covers and a painted smile (pictured in the photos), a single color version with integrated eye covers, and a single color version with separate eye covers.

Please see my other uploads for the Bat Tie to go with this costume, and we've just added a Sally Mask as well! We also have a full head Pumpkin King Mask which I'll possibly update with magnets too!

Please like and tell your friends about this design. If you would be so kind as to share your results, I'd love to see how you got on!

As always, please rate this print so others know how awesome it is :)  We would love it if you would be so kind as to Boost and Follow us for more creations!

is the colored print a larger mask? with over 500g of filiment compared to the no colored print at 300g + of filiment. I printed the non colored and the 2 halves do not line up. I used a regular pla for the face and a silk pla for rear. I can't see that making a difference but that's what I thought at first. great print otherwise. I love it

Aside from the alignment issue, that looks great! The colored print uses more filament due to purging during color changes, both masks are identical and should line up perfectly, was there any lifting or warping during your print?

no warping or anything. I'm going to print back half again with the same filiment as the front and see if it makes a difference

We've sincerely apologise for the wasted time and filament, thank you for your input we were unaware the profile had an issue and have now rectified the scaling and the sharp edges.

V2 - Single Color with Magnets and Separate Eye Covers
printed out perfectly! i went with the single color with separate eyes for speed since it wasn’t a complex model to paint the black parts. i loved that the magnetic parts are separate parts to the main objects - i was able to resize the helmet to fit my son perfectly and keep the magnets at 100% with just a little effort. Also used variable layer height on the front half, top curves came out very smooth!

Do you mind sharing how to resize the mask without resizing the magnet parts? I'm new to this. I'm using bambu studio as the slicer

yeah no problem, well i will say it is a time consuming process. if you go into the object viewer you can select individual parts in the object on each plate. i took note of the original size for the magnet parts (x y z for an individual marget housing), then i resized the entire object (mask and magnets, i did that to help ensure the magnets kept their general location to the edge of the mask. then I rescaled the magnet parts to match their original scale, repositioned them so they did poke out of the mask. after that i aligned both mask pieces together and made sure all the magnets aligned properly. it took awhile but was worth it.

Out of curiosity, what percentage did you bring it down to? I'm using a caliper to resize for my daughter, but this is an off shaped item. Since you've printed, I'm looking for the measurement that mattered most for sizing. Thanks ahead of time!

Hi any help from anyone would be much appreciated, i've been struggling to print this model on a rise 3-D pro2 Hyperspeed with slice engineering hot end upgrades and liquid cooling as well as i've tried to print it on both build surfaces wham bam PEI and PEX sheet i've oriented the model in a few different directions. I've confirmed a first layer test print and a bed level test print with perfect results every time I try to print this model I have to manually add in supports where I think they are fit i've tried printing it with a skirt and brim. My most recent two photos were adding a few supports right at the very pointy ends that keep on curling up. Just wondering if anybody has any suggestions based on the pictures I am printing this on a 70° bed and 220-230° PLA. Brand new polyTerra "polymaker" I could also upload my slice settings if anybody has any input or knowledge of this particular machine and Ideamaker Thank you in advance

You’re having adhesion issues, likely due to not printing on a polymer coated plate (pei etc). The only suggestion I could give would be to use wider brims to hold it down or to upgrade your plate with a pei sticker. Good luck!

Hi, if you look at the photos close you can see. I have tried it on both build surfaces PEX and PEI thank you for your reply and I am open for any suggestions I could attach slicer settings, and since I am printing this on a Raise 3d pro2 none of the supports migrate with the file to my machine so everything that I have to do is either placed in automatically with my slicer ideamaker or manually added... The farthest that I've gotten currently is the latest photo that I'm going to share in this post as it's currently printing as we speak I think based off of how far it is now that the print May succeeded, but it definitely be a flawless print by any means it will need some cleanup work.. I added a few supports at the points that were lifting prior and this was on the PEI sheet using a stick adhesive and as you can see at the point that it is now it made it much farther, but one corner is already starting to pull off the bed I am curious as to if you have a recommendation on where supports are definitely necessary and where that I can cut them out to save time if I let idea maker auto generate it's overkill

Thanks so much for the boost and rating! We've released a new version which has some pretty cool improvements like magnet closure instead of the clips and optional perforated eyes.
