Description

A multi-color flip style calendar. You will only need six M3x6mm hex bolts or screws to attach the back to the case.

This is a long print, broken up on to 5 plates, two of the plates could be combined but I have them separated as I figured it would make assembly easier. There are also some detailed parts so make sure to calibrate the flow for you filament before printing or the parts might not fit well.

Print the case body and back first. Then the numbers or months( the main profile has English months, there are profiles for Spanish and Chinese months as well). If you want the flaps to look the same on both sides use a smooth plate and enable ironing on the top surface for the months and numbers. This will take considerably more time though. Once the flaps are printed print the corresponding hub.

Assemble the hub by inserting the hub cap into the main hub body

then screw in the hub bolt, the long bolt with partial threads.

Screw in the crank bolt in the other side, thats the short threaded bolt.

You are now ready to add the flaps. Make sure you are holding the hub in the correct orientation or the months/numbers will be upside down. The crank bolt, the side with the threads in the bolt should be to the outside of the case ( Months to the left and numbers to the right).

The flaps should be pliable enough to bend slightly to be able to insert each side of the flap pin into each end of the hub.

If you need more room you can loosen the bolt so the end cap can slid out a little. Just be careful to not bend them too much. Be careful with the numbers from 10-19 as they are week near the ‘1’ when bending.

With the hub assembled slide it into the case as far as it will go, and screw in the crank through the case.

Next you need to assemble the hub locks and ‘ratchet’ springs. There are two locks for each hub. They are identical, just mirrored. They group on the plate for each side of the lock.

Take one of the locks, and place the spring on the under side with the hole facing inward.

Take the ‘ratchet’ and push it in to the hole in the spring from the opposite side. The the flat side of the ‘ratchet’ should be on the same side as the flat side of the lock.

Now insert the completed lock into the case with the flat side to the back of the case.

Do the same for the lock for the fist hub, then do the same for the other hub and flaps. Screw the back on to the case and you are done.

Decent print. I had some trouble with the instructions for putting the flip plates on initially but once I got my head around it, it was okay. Maybe a video might be helpful with the orientation. I also had some troubles with one of the numbers warping and I snapped a 13, obviously this was my error but it was a bit of pain to have to re-print the whole plate for just 2 numbers. Could a plate be added where you can delete the numbers as required? when I tried splitting it in Bambu Studio it went haywire and stacked each element on top of eachother. Printed well though and I am pretty happy with the results. Thanks for sharing :)

That is a very good suggestion. I set it up this way so all the text was one object and easy to change the color, with them all individual you have to set the color for each one, which could be kind of a pain, but being able to print only one I think is the better use case. I do that today. Thanks for the suggestion.
