Lovely box, great design, printed out great. The print in place hinges didn't work for me though even after gently teasing them and working with a knife they still broke.
Will try again my granddaughter will love tis box, but any chance of a filament size hole instead of print in place hinge.
Thank you for you're good work though.
Edit, figured out to do it in Bambu Labs Studio and currently printing again.
Oh man, that stinks. i use these hinges on a few boxes and print at .08, 12, and .2. I wonder what the issue is. Please let me know if you figure it out.
Tolerances are to tight at the side of the hinge, it broke again the centre part of the hinge seems to have welded itself to the sides. You can see that in my 2nd photo. Also the latch is fine, and when i look at the slice the gap is much larger.
@jimbrown oh, okay, thanks for your response. Sorry about that wasted filament. I increased the gap from .12 to .22 and uploaded another profile, if you wanted to try again.
printed the closing mechanism in PETG, rest is PLA.
Was able to print this without the use of AMS after adding a modifier block to have only two of the layers coloured and switching the Filament manually.
Only issue I had was some bridging quality on the latch but shouldn't be too difficult to clean up post print. I prefer this style hinge to one that's printed separately and needs to be snapped in place
First attempt at a print in place hinge and it works beautifully. Thanks for providing the test print, I am more disappointed about losing time than filament and this helped check before committing.
