Description

3D Chess Pieces with Magnetic Connection

These chess pieces are designed for a unique version of chess. Each piece is divided in half and can be combined using built-in magnets, allowing for an innovative gameplay experience.

Printing Parameters
- Layer Height: 0.2 mm
- Infill Density: 20%
- Material: PLA
- Nozzle Size: 0.4 mm
- Supports: None required
- Walls:  2-3
- Seam Position: On the edge (to minimize visual impact)

Required Materials
You will need 64 round magnets (4x2 mm) for assembling the pieces.

Magnet Installation
Each figure requires two magnets. It is crucial to insert the magnets correctly. Insert identical magnets into each half of a figure as shown in the example below. Incorrect installation will cause the magnets to repel each other, preventing proper assembly.

Printing Guide
For a complete set, you need to print the following pieces:

- Pawn: 8 pieces
- Knight: 2 pieces
- Bishop: 2 pieces
- Rook: 2 pieces
- Queen: 1 piece
- King: 1 piece

These quantities are for one player. Remember to print a second set in a different color for the opposing player. Additionally, consider printing extra queens (or other pieces) to accommodate pawn promotion during gameplay.

Rules

Gameplay
Chessplus gameplay is similar to that of regular chess, but pieces can merge. The only piece that can't be merged with is the king. Pieces can only merge with other pieces of their own color. Only two pieces can be merged at a time. Pieces may split, using their original move to un-merge.
Castling
Castling may be done with a combined rook. Just like in regular chess, the rook must not have previously moved. In other words, if a knight moved to combine with a rook, castling is possible, but if that rook moved to combine with the knight, then castling is no longer allowed for that rook.
En passant
Similar to the castling rules, en passant can only be used on a combination of two pawns. If the combination is, say, a biawn, the combination of a bishop and a pawn, then en passant is not allowed.
