Description

This model is a scissor holder that I use in my kitchen but can be used anywhere. It is made up of 3 unique parts.

  1. A screw lid that is the top of the holder which holds a replaceable insert.
  2. This is the replaceable insert that has 4 holes for 4 pairs of scissors, you can replace this part with any disc of diameter 91.491mm (or there abouts) and thickness 2mm
  3. A celtic patterned body section, you print multiple of these so that you get the required height for the length of your scissors.

Printing 3 body sections will give an overall height of - 136mm (5.36 inches) and a diameter of 100mm (3.94 inches).

Print I did was with Bambu Labs Basic PLA in Bronze on PEI sheet on A1 printer. No supports, no glue, no brim. I printed at a 0.2mm layer height.

The threads are 45 degrees so no issues printing and no issues screwing parts together - went together smoothly.

I designed it in 3 parts so that I can adjust for other uses.

There is a disc insert because I wanted to make it cheap to replace when I had scissors or other things that would not fit.

I also wanted to use multicolour on the top of the disc insert but have not figured out yet how to do this in my Fusion 360 model.

The bottom is open and there are threads top and bottom.
