Im currently upgrading most of my suspended models to include channel to install led strips in them..

So for the suspended star destroyer V2.. since its already in 2 parts.. i added a channel path so you can install a LED strips around the outer frame.. and i put small holes in the inner frame so that the lights from the LED shines through to the ship..

The ship itself is modelled by nikoli2803 from thingerverse.. the circular frame is the imperial logo itself.. the whole frame i modelled it to look like the deathstar.. everything was done using Tinkercad..

The ship itself comes in 2 parts.. front and back.. and there are 3 clips to hold both side of the ship together.. the bottom clip will be the stand for the whole suspended star destroyer and the 2 clips works on any side..

Its a bit tricky to assemble since you cant put both parts of the ship down since its suspended on the strings..

so my suggestion is to put the bottom clip down on a table and then put the 2 parts into the clip..
it should fit snuggly together..
once the frame can stand on its own.. you can put the other 2 clips onto the frame..

When printing suspended models.. one important thing to remember is to set the wall generator to arachne from classic.. this will make the slicer print the strings..

Could you tell me which filaments and build surface you used? I am using the same colors but every time I try to release the print, I break the strings...

These are amazing. I'm impressed with how well they work. I have an A1 mini, and I am able to maneuver the Millenium Falcon so to print 100%, and I've finally dialed that one in. I am having a problem with his model though, as it's is too big for the A1 mini. I have to scale down to about 83%. Unfortunately, that affects the strings, and they don't always print well. It's a hit-miss type of situation. When you create the models, what size are the strands that you use? I was wondering if you might be willing/able to scale it for an A1 Mini, but re-create with the optimal size strands needed for reliable printing. Again. Amazing work. Thank you.

Hey, have u fixed the Problem ? After scale down to 85%, at one site 6 strings dont connect completely.

This model is so cool!!! Great work on the model and how easy it was to put together. Thanks again for providing the link to the LED's to install as well as for providing these models to the community

This thing is awesome. Was a little bit scared, when I put the two halfs together, because it was wiggling like crazy. But the strings were strong enough. Thanks for sharing your fantastic work.
