Description

In the building of my DIY NAS: 2017 Edition using the SilverStone DS380 case, I noticed that my hard disk drive temperatures were running a few degrees higher than I was comfortable with.

I wound up reading a FreeNAS forum post describing blocking an air gap at the bottom of the case's drive cage and asked myself "Why not design a duct that screws into the case's 120mm cooling fans?"

After a few minutes with my calipers, a few revisions later, and after stamping my face on the thing, I had a closed the majority of the SilverStone DS380's air gap with the duct.

No 3D Printer? No problem! I am selling the Cooling Ducts for SilverStone DS380 on my Tindie Store for quite a bit cheaper than the few 3D printing services I compared it to.

A great model, but the recessed face seems to add some print time

It looks like Maker World did a bad job of importing the latest version (the one from all the pictures), it's been added here now. However, the raw source is available. In the time it took to leave this comment, you could've opened it up in OpenSCAD and made whatever revisions you needed.
