Disclaimer 2: Model is huge, 57 cm long and needs almost 5 kg of filament. PLA recommended.
Postprocessing
Remove supports.
Use deburring tool to remove sacrificial bridging inside the holes.
Assembly
See attached assembly guide.
Due to the printer tolerances and nature of FDM printing, sometimes you'll need to apply more strength to assemble, some parts will be little loose and need a glue to secure it in position and whole drive train will need a lubrication in order to make it work smoothly (PTFE lubrication or silicion oil in spray recommended).

A super project in itself. A big compliment to the work and effort that was invested here.
It was definitely a lot of fun and will certainly find a good place in my home.
Positive: It was easy to put together for the most part. Everything stayed intact and the initial fear that pins might break didn't materialize. Almost everything was included that was needed according to the instructions.
Negative: I had to do a lot of gluing. The radiator grille is completely glued, as are some axles and pins with crosses, as everything is too loose and would fall apart. This particularly affects the small cab.
Parts that I was missing include the end caps on the wheels. But I may have forgotten to print these?
It certainly wasn't easy, tolerances in printing are always different and make it a bit more difficult.
The parts were printed on 2x X1C printers, which took quite a while. For me as an adult who still likes to play games, it was a great project. But for children who want to take it apart and play with it, I don't think it's a good idea.
I also came out missing the 4 nuts for the wheels. Also, I found scaling the nuts and the two gears used to actuate the model to 97% actually allowed me to snuggly tighten them. I resized a few others elsewhere in the model and reprinted for that snug fit. Did you find that the pin that connects the dump bucket to the truck was printed in the wrong color (mine was tan but the directions showed it as dark grey)? Or maybe I inadvertently swapped that out elsewhere in the model?
But I fully agree, this model isn't really for "play", deconstructing and re-assembling, it's more of a display piece. But I absolutely love it!
Can you remove the sacrificial bridging, please? It is so suck. I would rather use support.Even though it wastes materials. But the result is better, and easy to move.By the way.I love this program so much.Thank you!
Super cool project! Printed on an army of P1S and X1C's. Assembly was very straightforward and Lego-like. I agree that some elements need glueing. Mainly the little endstops and the non-Technic parts like the grill. But this is to be expected.
I also agree that this is not for a play project for kids. The weight is too high and some edges can be fairly sharp for little kids. Also, it sometimes takes some force to connect parts. For an adult no problem but not suitable for children.
As a 40+ big child however, I LOVE this thing. It is such a nice example of why we all got into 3D printing. It makes for an impressive WOW moment when anybody sees it. Highly recommend!
Everything printed with ColorFabb PLA/PHA except for the wheels that were printed in ColorFabbs VarioShore.
I designed the "stickers" in Fusion and integrated them into the parts. I used bearing grease to lubricate the moving parts and every function works as it should. Very impressive!
Great to hear that. Starting to print the excavator soon. Would be nice to have supports underneath the holes instead of the lines that need to be deburred, but you had a reason to design it like that I guess.
wondering if I missed something when preparing my print for the wheels. they should mount with the spokes facing in based on pictures I’m seeing, but the connectors won’t fit through?
