Compound bow
Print Profile(3)

Description
A 3D-printed compound bow, pushing the boundaries of 3D-printed object capabilities. A prototype design is now shared. Maximum draw weight is approximately 10 pounds, suitable for home recreation.
Additional materials required: 8 M3x12 socket head cap screws, 9 M3x8 socket head cap screws, bowstring, and adhesive tape. I used 1mm diameter nylon rope for the bowstring and standard electrical tape.
It is best to purchase finished arrows; a 3D-printed arrow broke upon release. A release aid was also designed, but proved insufficiently robust, ultimately replaced with a finger tab on the string.
Do not dry fire, do not dry fire, do not dry fire.
Theoretically, draw weight can be increased by shortening the auxiliary string; however, this is not recommended. I broke several bows during the prototyping phase. Improvements must be made through structural modifications, a task for the next iteration.
Print configurations for different diameter eccentric wheels are included. The default diameter is 90mm; 100mm and 80mm options are also provided. Larger wheels yield a longer draw length and reduced poundage. Adjust according to arm length.
