Description

Another iteration on the printable scraper blade design. Changes are as follows:

  • v3.3 was skipped as it was used for internal testing but additional issues were resolved before publishing.
  • Added version number so if you print a batch of them you can keep track of what version they are without test fitting them. The blade in the model image was printed using a 0.6mm nozzle but the characters should print even better on the standard 0.4mm nozzle.
  • Manually adjusted alignment holes based on user feedback from @HobbiesRfun and @Jaysaw on the v3.2 model. I identified a remixed handle that I believe threw off the alignment holes, then compared it to the official blades and handle. I printed a fresh official handle and printed this blade in PLA and it mates properly, as shown in the model images.
  • Adjusted centering of the blade to better support the edges:
    • v3.2:
    • v3.4:
      •

I do find that PLA blades tend to chip/break easier than PETG, but they are still servicable… You just may need to print a bigger batch to have some extras on hand. If (when) the blade edge gets too dented/chipped to use, a quick snip with scissors is usually enough to get the blade back in shape (sometimes it even works better with a little more meat on the edge).

Please provide any feedback and I'm happy to work it into future revisions!
