Toroidal Launcher Gearset - 1:7 ratio

This is an add-on modification for my Toroidal Launcher that is designed to drop-in and replace the default gears used for the first two stages. This gearset provides a 1:7 ratio and can be used to increase the overall gear ratio resulting in higher output speed at the cost of more required effort.

Specifications

• 1:7 gear ratio
  • Sun gear: 12 teeth
  • Planet gear: 30 teeth
• Micro-drive: 4mm

Assembly

• When using this gearset as the middle stage use the included collar to mate the output with the next stage as shown below:

• When using this gearset as the output stage use the included capped collar to give the necessary extra clearance as shown below:

Printing Tips

• The included print profile adjusts several of the standard settings and is what I've found works the best for speed and quality when printing gears.

  • 25% infill, 5 bottom/top walls
  • 75 mm/s inner and outer wall speed
