Description

Print the model from PLA, the parts are connected with pins and secured with glue. Printing without supports! The size of the model can be changed as needed. Assemble the chassis according to the photo.

pin tolerance fix, added more clearance /ver 2024

Here is my results, and what i recommand everyone doing. 1. you need 8 pins and not 6 which desinger did not include on build plate or in notes (use BRIM only) 2. you need to print on 4 different plates as shown on my images as the sizes are wrong 3. springs the 4 of them 2 of them dont even touch the plate so you do need support and must be printed at 90% to fit 4. when connected all the 8 pins they dont fit correctly so to make it work i used torch to touch both the car and the pins to melt a bit then fited. Use brim on all See below my printout looks pretty nice i still have to paint the windows but looks nice.

For some reason my friend really likes this car so I printed it for him. I'm not a big fan of the cut down the middle though.

I printed the reduced scale 6" model in Matte Black PLA - looks good - not sure if I'll paint body silver or not. I changed the Layer Height to 0.1mm, and Outer Wall to 0.2mm, thinking I would get higher definition. I believe this is why I got the interesting shading on the car side panels, and actually seemed to loose some of the wheel hub definition. On bottom of car I used Bambu slicer to "Add Negative Part", imported the Cybertruck-logo-by-cameronthemaker file, and then sized it and moved it's location to center into the bottom of truck (a small pick was needed to remove some first layer material). On the left hand side of the car bottom photo, you can see that the area behind the rear wheel well is not consistent on both sides. If I look at the sliced model, it appears the model is not symmetric. An update from original files should be able to correct this difference. Also, in sanding the ends of the axels to fit into the tire holes, I put too much torsional stress on the axel, and it twisted in half. I re-ran the axes laying down on the plate, and as expected, got a much stronger axel to handle the torque produced by sanding, as well as twisting the axels into the tire holes. Something to try if you torque the axel in half. If I paint the body silver on this smaller model, I'm going to want to print the window kit, but it looks like the window kit is made for the full size version. If anyone has printed the window kit for the reduced scale 6" model, can you confirm the % reduction of the window kit to fit the reduced scale 6" model? Thanks!
