Description

A small tool case to hold a standard hexagonal shape deburring tool (12mm wide across flat faces) and up to 10 deburring tool bits.

The case rotates around itself to make a stand to display the tool / bits and give easy access when in use.

I've updated the model to include some small handles at the end to ease with opening the case, they're not shown in my print but you can see them in the CAD screenshot.

To assemble simply attach the lid to the base unit by inserting the cone shaped hinges on the lid into the corresponding holes on the base.

Update 17/02/2025

I needed somewhere to store my case when not in use to free up some space on the desk. I've put together a simple holder to attach it to an Ikea Skadis board, you can check it out here if it might be useful for you too!

Flawless print and excellent result! It would only have been perfect if one didn't always have to remove the blade from the deburring tool… But otherwise top-notch, and thanks for sharing! 😎👍

I'll probably end up uploading a V2 in the future so I'll make sure to include some extra headspace so you can keep a blade attached.

I slightly modified the model in the slicer I scaled it in length and added a modifier This allows me to store the deburring tool including the blade It is a fantastic model Thank you for your work

Thank you for your message Yes, the model turned out superbly I scaled this by 20 mm in length and incorporated a modifier at the top for the blade Thus, the tool including the blade fits perfectly into the model It is a small alteration, but with a significant impact

The build plate was NOT clean the first time so I gave a clean and reprint it

Did you have trouble with all of the print sticking or just parts before the build plate was cleaned? Glad it came out okay the second time.

yes i’d get warping with the two parts but it was my fault because didn’t clean the bed before printing. I did a second print from the printer itself with no problem after cleaning the plate. Makerworld don’t recognize that as a good print and didn’t let me put the 5 stars. sorry about that.

I’ve added a recess so the blades don’t need to be removed each time, and if the box were a few millimeters wider and longer, the ten replacement blades could be inserted without twisting—a superb box, but a few minor improvements are needed, four stars… a boost is forthcoming if this is fixed The box itself is great 👌 it just needs to be enlarged by a few millimeters, including a negative model; you pay attention to the opening, but often the box is opened upside down, and the blades fall out; these are my tips for you, examples are observable in the photos (optionally, it would be possible to use magnets, e.g. 1x3mm, so that the blades could have a better hold?)
