Description

Toroidal Launcher Gearset - 1:5.5 ratio

This is an add-on modification for my Toroidal Launcher that is designed to drop-in and replace the default gears used for the first two stages. This gearset provides a 1:5.5 ratio and can be used to increase the overall gear ratio resulting in higher output speed at the cost of more required effort.

Specifications

1:5.5 gear ratio
- Sun gear: 16 teeth
- Planet gear: 28 teeth
Mini-drive: 6.5mm

Assembly

When using this gearset as the middle stage use the included collar to mate the output with the next stage as shown below:

When using this gearset as the output stage use the included capped collar to give the necessary extra clearance as shown below:

Printing Tips

The included print profile adjusts several of the standard settings and is what I've found works the best for speed and quality when printing gears.
- Arachne wall generator
- 25% infill, 5 bottom/top walls
- 75 mm/s inner and outer wall speed

Eine sehr gute Datei, schnell und einfach gedruckt. empfehlenswert um druck Qualität zu prüfen und die Kinder spielen gerne damit rum.

Other Issues:For some reasons, the original gears combined with these ones didn't turn regardless how many times I tried to make them fit

Check the outer ring for proper meshing with the gearset before inserting into the endcap. I had to realign mine a couple times before I got a perfect mesh and smooth turning.

I printed this in hopes it would work on a project that is not what the designer built it for. It does not work for me but I use it as a fidget toy none the less. It printed quite well and was easy enough to assemble.
