Description

Toroidal Launcher Gearset - 1:3 ratio

This is an add-on modification for my Toroidal Launcher that is designed to drop-in and replace the default gears used for the first two stages. This gearset provides a 1:3 ratio and can be used to lower the gear ratio so less overall effort is required at the cost of having to turn further; this can help make it easier to startup and launch small heights.

Specifications

1:3 gear ratio
- Sun gear: 36 teeth
- Planet gear: 18 teeth

Printing Tips

The included print profile adjusts several of the standard settings and is what I've found works the best for speed and quality when printing gears.
- Arachne wall generator
- 25% infill, 5 bottom/top walls
- 75 mm/s inner and outer wall speed

Is there an updated design for the HousingCarrierHolder, as you can't fit this without updating this piece. The sun gear in the centre is too large to fit this original

Yes, I actually have an entire design for this! To answer your question though I do not have a modified HousingCarrierHolder since I would need to make one for each gearset which is why I made this gearset available as a separate mod that was integrated with the carrier. https://makerworld.com/en/models/99992#profileId-106623 Currently you can modify the launcher to use either 1:2 or 1:3 input stage and then the second two stages can be any combination of 1:3, 1:4, 1:5.5 and 1:7. That gives a wide range of gear ratios to experiment with ranging from 1:18 all the way to 1:147

I was unable to get these to turn at all within the larger clasp. The 1:4 fit fine in the clasp though. Any ideas?
