Mini Tool Box Base

Inspired by the US General mini tool box from Harbor Freight, this 3 drawer base is for my 3D printed mini tool box found here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/955794#profileId-924716

This 3 drawer base uses the same drawers as my other box, but with an extra top drawer. You still have a choice between gridfinity and flat bottom drawers. This base box uses a separately printed rail that slots into the top to securely hold the mini tool box in place, and has an optional extended rail so you can put the real thing on top as well. I have confirmed fitment with the US General and Kobalt boxes. Please leave a comment if you find other brands that fit.

For those printing on Bambu printers, I have included print profiles for both the gridfinity and regular drawer versions with the color changes at layer height. I included my support recommendations in the titles of the print plates. *Update Feb. 1 2025: all support settings are now preset in my print profiles at my recommended settings. Adjustments on your end are not necessary. Recommended settings are still listed in the title of each print plates if you want to double check but I have confirmed all are set correctly.

For the drawers, I recommend auto tree supports, however the support settings are not as critical, but the base was a little bit tricky. You will need to use manual normal supports for the base, with the style set to snug. The support areas are already painted in the print profile and supports have been set by object, so all you should need to do is slice the file as is and it should be automatic from there.

My print settings are the same as with the mini tool box, 3 walls and 15% infill.
