Description
I have been working tirelessly on the Automatic Battery Machine. Day and night, all of my free time was devoted to get this completed to submit for the vault contest. This machine utilizes a rack-and-pinion design commonly seen in vault doors. That is end of the commonalities with this design and anything else ever seen. My Bambu X1C was able to print this product on with the stock Bambu studio 0.16mm optimal profile easily. I would not be confident my Ender 3 could do it. This print relies on the ability to print accurately.
I have uploaded a profile with color changes in place, you could also do color swaps at layer height. Each plate is labeled accordingly for the swap.
I have some design experience but this design has been my biggest undertaking. There is a lot of fiddly bits involved and a few bits you need to purchase for this to work as intended.
I was inspired by Rocco's Vault with tumbler lock. If you purchased the materials required for that project you will have everything you need for this.

Tape?
The gear placement is probably important. The gears should sit in a particular way but they find their home almost naturally. The carriage and carriage driving gear are the biggest things to pay attention to.
I have tested this design with one 20 AA batteries of one brand.
