Cat Skull [v2] - Easy, Fast Print
Print Profile(1)

Description
Thanks so much for all the support on my previous model! It was a practice sculpt I did that I thought might be cool to 3d print. I found an easy(ish) way to print it, and posted it. I never expected it to be so successful, but it was a nice surprise. That said, the model wasn't perfect, and I thought there were a few ways to improve it.
The new model is:
- More accurate - small corrections have been made to the shape of the skull to make it more accurate. The teeth in particular needed some adjustments to make them more accurate.
- More detailed - the skull now has seams in the proper places and more details on the bottom. Additional details were added throughout.
- Easier to print & no more flat spot - You no longer need glue or a brim. The flat spot on the back of the head has been removed. Instead, the new model uses supports on the underside. Normal supports were used instead of tree supports; in my testing, they left the least amount of scarring. Supports are minimized and only on the bottom of the skull.
If you have trouble printing the jaw, you can consider adding a brim. It should print fine on a clean plate, though. There's plenty of surface area for it to stick to the plate.
Jaw
There are two versions of the jaw. The default jaw has a flat spot on the bottom. While this does make it a cleaner print, this is mostly so that the skull doesn't wobble.
There is an alternate version of the jaw that is more accurate. There is a protrusion on the front that makes it a little bit wobbly. It still sits fine, but it may tip easily. This version is printed on supports and may leave some support scarring behind.
Resin
I've included pre-supported resin STLs for the cat skull as well. The resin skull is hollowed out using the natural holes in the cat skull. There are no internal supports in the hollowed out area. Only the more accurate jaw is included with the resin file. Because of the hollowing, the skull is front-heavy and doesn't wobble as much.
Print Settings
If you can't use the attached print profiles, I recommend using 3 walls and lighting infill. The cat skull needs supports. I recommend normal supports (manual), with supports painted on the key areas. See the photo.
