Description

Here is a frame I redesigned using the Bambu lithophane design as a template.

I designed the frame to accept the Bambu LED light and also integrated a stand which allows the storage of 3 lithophanes making this a great design to make as a gift.

The 3mf file is designed with the best settings I used to make the frame but it required the use of support filament as a support interface though with careful settings you can make it supporting without support filament.

I printed this with no issues with PLA the photos is PLA silver using Bambu PLA and PLA support from Bambu labs.

I have also included the step file as well if you which to make edits which I will allow but not resale of the frame without my consent.

The photos include the rear which shows the integrated lithophane storage and the front photo shows a white PLA light guide installed.

This was printed in Pink silk PLA. The only thing I wanted to change was have it facing up a little instead of forward. I remixed it with holes in the bottom for feet that you could size to your liking.

I looked at the remix excellent work the only thing I had to ask was how was the print structure wise as you used less wall loops than me. Love the picture

the structure is still really sound. only difference i noticed is when it printed it actually left a gap between the foot and the light. Doesn't affect it though. obviously thinner walls allows a lot more light through.

Tested this print profile and I must say it came out great and is much more filament efficient than my design

How thick can the lithophane be, and still fit into the frame? Or rather, what are the dimensions that the lithophane and diffuser plate needs to be?

I used the standard measurements from bambus frame https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/knowledge-sharing/CMYK-color-lithophane-printing-instructions I can check my stl file when I get home but I believe the diffuser plate has to be quite thin

No that's great, that gave me the dimensions, thank you for the info. My first print of your frame is almost done, looking great ... there's some amazing unsupported bridging that happens just after (and beside) the support material near the top, but it worked fine.

Nice on the print profile I did consider trying a tree profile but was unsure on the stability of the tree support I will give it a try
