P1S/P1P Hot End Fan Spacer Duct - Stop Heat Creep!
Print Profile(1)

Description
This fan spacer will effectively eliminate heat creep issues in your P1 printers. The idea behind this spacer is that the hub of this small fan creates a large dead zone for airflow when it is screwed directly on the heatsink. By spacing the fan away from the heatsink a few mm, it allows the fan to push more air through the middle of the heatsink where it needs it most. The divider in the fan housing was to ensure that air was being forced through the heatsink, but also allows for air to flow over the throat and into the extruder gears to cool that area. I found that if I forced all the air through the heatsink, I would occasionally experience heat creep up inside the extruder gears.
I print in my garage, and try to keep the printer closed to mitigate dust as much as possible inside the printers. When printing with the door closed, I would frequently experience heat creep, in the nozzle and the extruder. When I switched to a MicroSwiss hotend it became a bit more prevalent, so I worked on designing a solution that would be easy to install and reversible.
This fan spacer uses 4 of the factory fan screws; 2 to secure spacer to heatsink, 2 to secure fan to spacer. Make sure the heater and thermistor wires are pushed back under that lip into that channel so the wires aren't pinched. You need to make sure your printer prints dimensionally accurate. Please use the included profile, this print needs to be slowed down quite a bit to have a quality print.
This has been tested to fit the stock hot end and the MicroSwiss hot end. Being it fits stock, I think it will fit other replacements, but I cannot confirm that.
I used PCTG for this print. I would use at minimum PETG; ABS/ASA or other high temp filament may be better long term.
The fan screws are included in this kit: https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/screws-kit-x1-series-p1-series-and-ams?_pos=1&_sid=ca59f2734&_ss=r
Alternately, you can try to source some m2.5x15 screws online. I have not tested any aftermarket screws.
This will not fit the X1 due to the LiDAR.
Update: I redesigned the model so there is no interference with fit now. The hotend should screw in just like a stock one.
