Description

Looking for a convenient way to store your Bambu filament waste but also save precious table space? This is for you!

This is designed to have your waste be disposed of off the side of the table and conveniently stored in a removeable bin out of the way, the design is based of off a very common inexpensive 3d printer storage solution make by Ikea (Lack end tables) but can be adapted for many other sizes by printing a spacer block. Ikea lack tables are 50mm think so all you would do is subtract your tables thickness from 50mm and print a simple block in your slicer of choice, no need to be able to create 3d models as this can be achieved in most slicer natively.

All parts are press fit with rectangular shims and pressure fits top the table so no hardware is needed, gluing in the shims will provide more stability but it completely optional, all the files attached contain the quantity needed to complete the project in the filename (Insert_Long_Qty_3). Most part print with no support only really needed for the bin handle but you may add more if you are concerned with quality of the Bambo logo or hex pattern on the bin.

If you any issues please feel free to leave a comment and I will work on a revision to solve the issue and update this listing.

Two sizes of bin are provided to save filament (Large is pictured)

Nozzle: 0.4, 0.6, 0.8

Supports: Minimal (Tree/Organic recommended)

Layer Height: I wouldn't go below 0.2 as this is a functional print and would just add excessive print time, greater than 0.2 is recommended

Perimeters: 2

Bottom Layers: 2

Top Layers: 2

Infill: 10-15%

Infill type: Not very important (Whatever you prefer)

*This print used quite a bit of material 450+ grams but should only need to be printed once

It is honestly a shame that this model isn't more popular. I'm not a huge fan of the blocks for connecting, but to be fair they work and fit well. Fits the lack table perfectly. No more filament box for me. Might go back and print the bigger bin at some point.

Cool seeing somebody else actually using it, glad you enjoy it! I'm still using mine everyday and it was one of my first designs so it definitely has a few flaws but hopefully it all worked out.

Really good design! I may take the time to do a version that can fit on a mini bed only because I had to use my other printers to make some of the other parts 😂 thanks again though!

Is the chute catching poops if a print is tall, like 150mm+ ? Thank you.

Some may miss but should catch most, print the top part first and test to be sure

With the A1 Mini, it catches it all. I've modified it to fit a 3/4" plywood and replaced the bin by a chute which ends up in a recycle bin.

then I'm going to test it I'll begin printing tomorrow Edits 1st plate: looks good except for the taps they need to be printed separately as they warped a little 3rd plate: turned out great (skipped 2nd as it's just a bigger bucket) reprinted taps: a bit of a tight fit but works
