Description

Hello! Due to popular demand I present to you an SAE imperial measuring tool for inch screws, bolts and nuts!

You can measure the TPI thread from 10-80 tpi as well.

Also the nut gauge has UNC, UNF and UNEF compatability as shown in the images.

Here is the metric gauge if you need that.

Features:

  • bolt/screw/nut sizes: #0 #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #8 #10 #12  1/4  5/16  3/8  7/16  1/2  9/16
  • lengths: 0-4½ inches in /32 steps
  • pitch/thread sizes in TPI: 10 11 12 13 14 16 18 20 24 28 32 36 40 44 48 56 64 72 80
  • big main numbers for better reading
  • contrasting colors for the letters and the measure lines - only 2 changes!
  • nut gauge can measure UNC UNF and UNEF nuts and has studs for inner measurements
  • 10mm hole for hanging storage
  • 3x3 gridfinity grid for easy storage
  • magnet holes for 6x2mm magnets (needs glue)

Here are my other models: https://makerworld.com/en/@MasterCake

I recommend 0.2mm if you want the fine threads.

You can print the tool with a 0.4mm nozzle but then some of the fine threads are lost.

Print settings - high quality, fine threads - time 19:08h

  • 0.2mm nozzle
  • 0.06mm adaptive layer (0.5 ratio)
  • 6 walls
  • seam position back
  • ironing top surfaces
  • arachne walls (important)
  • 5% adaptive cubic infill
  • no brim
  • no prime tower (not needed, less waste, faster print)

Print settings - medium quality, threads 10-48 - time 5:56h

  • 0.4mm nozzle
  • 0.08mm adaptive layer (0.5 ratio)
  • 3 walls
  • everything else like above (!)

Print settings - medium quality, threads 10-32 - time 3:53h

  • 0.4mm nozzle
  • 0.2mm adaptive layer (0.5 ratio)
  • 3 walls
  • everything else like above

Print settings - low quality, threads 10-24 - time 2:36h

  • 0.4mm nozzle
  • 0.28 adaptive layer (0.5 ratio)
  • 2 walls
  • no ironing
  • everything else like above

I hope you like the print and I would appreciate a boost from you!

Thanks! I just wonder what is going on with the colors, did you purge into infill?

Dimensionally, awesome. I think the combination of the infill pattern and top layers makes it suspectible to thin spots when printing. Mine had a hole in this particular area. I'll use it for now and eventually reprint it with additional infill (as I did with the metric version).

This, and it’s metric counterpart, printed easily. The thread gauge on the front edge is a little blurry at the finest level but I expected that with the .4mm nozzle. (My .2mm nozzles all clog everytime I use one now even though I’m using Bambu Lab PLA and tried new nozzles. I haven’t ventured into calibrating yet though so maybe I’ll get success eventually) Even the finest gauge is still usable imo. Thanks for this very useful model. I am not an organized person and this will be very helpful.

Profile: great Model: great. I thought this was going to be less usable based on the comments for the profile I printed, but it came out great.

Thanks! And good that it worked out. I was impressed myself when I printed it with the 0.4 nozzle, I honestly expected the small letters to be completely messed up. I think the Arachne wall generator saved the day.
