Printable replacement filament cutter blades for X1 and P1 Bambu Labs printers.
Use #4 hobby blades, I used these from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/TIHOOD-100PCS-Replacement-Hobby-Blades/dp/B07QP8L1QG).
The blades need to be snapped to ~12mm in length. I created a small printable jig to allow easily snapping them to the correct length with the help of a pair of pliers.
Please provide feedback if you give this a try. I am only one person with one machine, but I have tested with 1000+ filament changes and encountered no issues. All feedback is welcome.
Print Settings:
- I recommend printing out of a material such as PETG, ABS, or ASA. I used ASA. PLA may work but I have not tested it so try at your own risk.
- 0.12mm layer height highly recommended as it makes supports unneeded.
- Use Arachne wall generation to ensure dimensions are preserved, I had issues when printing with classic wall generation.
- 3 walls, 100% infill.
- Brim may be needed due to small contact area with the build plate.
Post Printing:
- If you used a brim ensure to trim any access so the cutter will properly fit.
- Once you have your blades cut to length they can be inserted and secured using your glue of choice or by heat insetting. I found Gorilla brand super glue was effective.
- Insert into cutter arm as normal ensuring it actuates smoothly. If it does not you may need to lightly sand the print.
I have attached STL and STEP files as well as my ASA Bambu Studio project.
