Project Description

 

My name is Tobias, and I have spent over 300 hours working on my biggest model so far: the KF51 Panther CyberBrick Main Battle Tank. This project is especially close to my heart because my previous model – the Leopard A7 – already received amazing feedback from the community. Building on that success, I now want to create an even more realistic and feature-rich model.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What am I raising funds for?
The design files and construction plans are already almost complete. However, I am lacking the financial resources to purchase the required parts and CyberBrick sets to fully build, test, and optimize the model for you. With the support of this campaign, I will be able to take the final steps and complete the project.

 

Why is this important to me?
The KF51 Panther is meant to demonstrate what is possible with 3D printing, creativity, and CyberBrick sets. This is more than just a model – it is a fully functional, detailed replica of a modern main battle tank that can be controlled via a custom-built remote control. My goal is to help other MakerWorld users take their CyberBrick experience to the next level.

 

 

 

Implementation
The model is designed to work with two CyberBrick sets:

  • Hull section: Powered by 4 motors, one servo for turret rotation, a gearbox for powerful or fast driving mode, plus front and rear lights.
  • Turret section: Includes a controllable rocket launcher, a rotating .50 cal, a movable radar, and a firing simulation with recoil barrel movement.

Additionally, there will be a custom remote control, specially tailored for this model.

As a bonus, I am also planning a variant where the turret can be replaced with a smartphone holder. This way, you can stream your phone’s camera to your TV and drive the tank through your home.

Risks and Challenges
Timeline: All design work is nearly complete. The files and printable parts will be ready for release within 10–14 days after the campaign ends. Target Audience Size: My Leopard A7 has shown that there is strong demand for high-quality CyberBrick models. With the additional functionality of the KF51, the interest will be even greater. Technical Implementation: The prototype has already been largely tested. Minor adjustments in detailed printing or the instructions may still be necessary after funding.
