Story

The Bongo Cat Mini Monitor started as a fun, functional prototype I shared on MakerWorld  and the response was incredible. People loved it, but they also wanted more: new features, better customization, support for different boards. I’ve released some updates, but developing major improvements takes serious time.
 

What is this : The Bongo Cat Mini Monitor is a tiny animated mini monitor that is under $15 to build, requires no soldering, and very beginner friendly.

What It Does: This is your pixelated office buddy.

  • Bongo Cat types when you type, matching your speed (WPM tracked)
  • Sleeps when you’re idle
  • Displays different system data like CPU load and RAM

The build is beginner-friendly with an online flasher, no soldering required, and a simple setup process.

 

I’m raising funds to give this project the time and attention it deserves,  rebuilding the software from the ground up for stability, customizations  and cross-platform compatibility. It’s a complete rebuild with backer-requested features, plus testing on new boards I’ll purchase with campaign funds.

 

Every backer will have a voice in shaping the future of the Bongo Cat Mini Monitor. Backers will vote on new features, customizations, and skins to add. Planned improvements include:

  • Polished, production-ready cross-platform companion app
  • Full customization: skins, backgrounds, hats
  • Flexible data display: choose CPU, GPU, temps, weather, and more

I’m not a software developer by trade and this is a passion project. With your support, I can focus on making something truly special for the community.

This is a development project, and while I have a clear plan, timelines may shift — especially when adding new features, improving stability, and testing across multiple boards. Sourcing certain boards could also cause delays. I will provide regular updates so backers can follow progress and stay informed about any changes. By backing this campaign, you acknowledge that your pledge is a contribution toward the development of the project, not a purchase of a finished product. Delivery dates are estimates and may change due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of delays or technical issues, I will communicate openly, share updates, and work toward a satisfactory resolution. Refunds, if offered, will be at my discretion unless required by applicable law. AI Technology Implementation in Content Creation
The project code was written with assistance from various AI models, and the campaign description was written by me and then reviewed and edited by ChatGPT to ensure it is clear, accurate, and comprehensive.
Human Oversight & Creative Originality
AI has played only an assistive role in developing the code for this project and in reviewing and polishing text materials, as English is not my native language. All 3D files, drawings, and animations have been created entirely without the use of AI.
