PS1 Themed Spinner & Display Case

The PS1 reimagined in a fun and useful fidget toy! Not only does this look cool, it is actually my fastest spinner yet!

 

I went a bit nuts ensuring the display case is a perfect replica of the iconic PS1, featuring a spring loaded lid just like the original. Optionally it has a battery powered turntable using some Maker's Supply parts!

Why I designed this

This is the kind of stuff I want to spend my time on - complex build projects which are fun, challenging, and rewarding for people to do. I especially love redesigning iconic items with some new, modern functionality or twist. The PS1 means a lot to me, it was my first ever console when I was a child, and I have some great memories having friends over and playing on it.

 

This will not be my only reimagination of the PS1 ;)

Why I am raising funds

While part of the funds will go towards R&D, (material, maker's supply parts), quite frankly I need the time. I am hoping this campaign will be a stepping stone towards becoming a full time content creator, right here on MakerWorld.

Risks and Challenges
I do this stuff in between my full time job and looking after my baby. My ultimate goal is for this work to be my full time job. I absolutely love designing, 3d printing, prototyping, and most of all, getting positive feedback from so many people in the community. I have so many ideas that I have not been able to realize yet, and this needs to change!
