XPAD

Build the Controller You Need
XPAD is a modular system for designing and building custom desktop controllers.
Use it as a macro pad, numpad, shortcut deck, rhythm-game controller, racing input, creative control pad—or create a layout of your own.
Choose the layout and input modules in your browser. XPAD then generates a matching 3D-printable enclosure, internal structure and custom keycaps for your configuration.
The core XTIA Configer tools are available now in beta and free to use.

One Platform, Different Uses
The same XPAD platform can be configured as:
- A macro and shortcut deck
- An office numpad
- A hall-effect rhythm controller
- A linear racing input
- A creative-software control pad
- A voice and AI shortcut controller
- A compact controller for your own workflow
The layout, enclosure and function can change without redesigning the entire device from the beginning.

How It Works
. xtiaconfiger.com is live right now ( beta version , free) .
- Design — Choose a preset or create your own layout in the browser.
- Generate — Create matching enclosure and keycap files.
- Print — Export the parts to your slicing software.
- Assemble — Install the controller and input modules. The official XPAD hardware uses a socketed, solder-free structure.
Configure — Assign keys, macros, shortcuts, or game controls.

Software and Hardware, Fully Decoupled
XPAD consists of two connected but independently accessible parts.
Software
You do not need to purchase the official XPAD hardware to use XTIA Configer.
Experienced builders can create a working controller using a Waveshare RP2040 Zero, compatible switches and their own wiring. The browser tools, supported firmware and documentation remain publicly accessible.
This DIY route requires soldering and manual assembly, but it provides access to most of the core XPAD functionality.
Official Hardware
The official XPAD hardware kit is designed for users who want the complete modular experience:
- Socketed and replaceable input modules
- Solder-free assembly
- Enclosures generated for the selected layout
- Reusable hardware across different configurations
- A faster path from browser design to a working controller
The official hardware is optional. It makes XPAD easier to assemble, modify and reuse without requiring custom wiring or circuit design.
Official Hardware Kit
The complete XPAD hardware kit includes:
- 1× fully socketed control module
- 1× genuine Waveshare RP2040 Zero, pre-soldered
- 1× EC06 rotary encoder module
- 1× microphone module
- 4× hall-effect magnetic switch modules, including switches
- 8× MX-compatible mechanical switch modules, including switches
- Extra-length module connection cables
A single control unit supports up to:
- 10 MX-compatible mechanical switch modules
- 4 hall-effect magnetic switch modules
- Additional supported input modules, depending on the configuration
The same modules can be rearranged and reused across different XPAD layouts.

Why Crowdfunding?
The core XTIA Configer tools are already available for anyone to try.
This campaign supports the continued development of both the software platform and official modular hardware.
Software Development
- Unrestricted model-generation infrastructure
- Preset saving and project management
- Additional layouts and module support
- Improved generation and download workflows
- Advanced configuration and calibration tools
- Continued firmware and documentation development
Hardware Development
- Final hardware revisions
- Module manufacturing
- Connector and assembly validation
- Production preparation
- Quality control
- Assembly guides and technical documentation
By backing XPAD, you support the development of a flexible controller platform and receive either unrestricted software access, official modular hardware, or both—depending on your selected reward.
