This quick-lock modular system started because I couldn't find what I needed for my own garage shop. I didn't want to compromise on my dust collection, but nothing on the market—commercial or 3D-printed—checked all the boxes. So, I designed these fittings to completely meet my own standards. They’re built to work better, swap faster, and finally solve the headache of workshop dust management.

🚀 The Next Evolution of Modular Dust Collection Fittings
Let’s put the 3D printed dust collection fittings game to rest!
Built on the success of my original fittings — and fueled by the incredible feedback from makers who’ve printed, tested, and offered improvements to them — it’s time to take things to the next level.
I want to move these designs from “just another 3D printed fitting” to the hands-down best dust collection fittings you can buy – regardless of how they’re made.
Built for Makers, Hobbyists, and Small Shops
Whether you’re a maker, hobbyist, or small workshop owner working with 3D printers, CNC machines, laser machines, woodworking tools, or otherwise - you know the struggle:

And to add, traditional dust-collection hardware is surprisingly expensive, and outfitting an entire setup can quickly become a major burden for small shops. This project changes that.
The Modular Dust Collection Fitting System delivers a more accessible, affordable, and better-designed solution — a customizable, 3D-printable ecosystem that makes your shop cleaner, safer, and more efficient.
With just one spool of filament, you can produce numerous connectors — saving money, enabling upgrades, and giving you the flexibility to evolve your setup over time. No more hunting for mismatched adapters or spending hundreds on proprietary parts.
The community response to the first generation on MakerWorld has been incredible. Makers around the world have downloaded, printed, and adapted these connectors to fit their own setups — proof that a well-designed system can be both open-source and professional-grade. But it does show clear signs of a first generation product line… it’s now time to evolve.
Introducing the Next Generation Modular System
This isn’t just an update — it’s a complete re-engineering of the system, built for performance, precision, and universal compatibility. I have printed my first prototype of the new connector, and it is wildly satisfying to use.
Here’s what’s coming as an improvement to the first generation:
- 🔒 Stronger Locking Feature
Upgraded from four lugs to five for even greater retention and smoother engagement — a rock-solid connection that clicks together with satisfying precision. - 🧩 Improved Printability
Every curve, lug, and interface has been optimized for smoother, faster prints with less support and tighter tolerances. I'm pushing to develop a design with no pauses during printing for manual intervention of magnets and nuts - there is currently 3 for the existing generation connectors! All components will be able to be assembled after printing, so you can feel free to “set it, and forget it"! In addition, I will keep a strong pulse on reducing post-processing to a bare minimum - if at all. - ♻️ Reduced Unique Components
